CREATIVE MORNINGS - Alex Jenkins

Creative Mornings - Alex Jenkins

Alex Jenkins is a graphic designer and commercial photographer based in Cardiff and Porthcawl. After leaving Wales in his early twenties, he became Creative Director at XL Recordings, designing for artists including The Prodigy, Roni Size, Basement Jaxx and Jonny L, before joining Lambie-Nairn as a Senior Designer, working on brand identities for BBC Radio, O2, and The Millennium Dome.

As a freelance creative, Alex worked with agencies including CDT and Turquoise Brand, alongside clients such as Ministry of Sound, Warner Music and EMI, creating work for global brands and artists including The Streets and Example.

Since returning to Wales, Alex has co-founded successful businesses, lectured at universities, and built a career spanning more than 35 years across design, branding, packaging design, photography, and entrepreneurship.

In this talk, Alex shares some defining projects from his career, exploring the lessons, setbacks, and turning points that led him to one simple realisation: the biggest competition you’ll ever face isn’t your peers. It’s yourself.
