WHAT IS ‘STATE OF PLAY’?

STATE OF PLAY is a free, creative programme for young people aged 16-25, starting in January 2026 across South Wales. These short courses will build your knowledge and practical skills across a wide-range of subjects such as, fine art, fashion design, model making, and more! It’s a place to be creative and not feel judged. Somewhere you can figure things out.

When does it start?

STATE OF PLAY will start in January 2026 until July 2026. You will have to commit to 2 hrs per week (term-time).You can try something different each term. Sign up for as many terms as you like. All we ask is that you are committed and eager to learn. You will be in a safe environment that encourages creativity and experimentation.

WHERE WILL IT BE HELD?

The Canopi is a grassroots creative space in Riverside, Cardiff, run by a small team of artists and makers. We put on gigs, workshops, exhibitions and loads more. It’s a great place to meet other creatives!
