What makes you feel a sense of home? Is it a building, a room, a piece of furniture, an object? Is it people, a landscape, an abstract feeling? We are seeking art that invokes the concept of 'home' whatever that means to you. 


Important Dates:

Submissions are open via the form until 5 April.

You will be notified of your acceptance in the category of visual art by April 13th

Artworks to be delivered to Canopi from of April 20th - 25th

The exhibition will take place from May 1 - May 22

The opening night party will be on April 30

Submission Information:

This submission includes three categories:

A postcard to home

Visual Art

A family recipe

1. Visual Art 

    - This can be paintings, quilt/ fibre art, linocuts, mixed-media, small-scale sculpture, collage,   or creative photography (altered or collaged, etc). 

    - In the submission you will be asked to provide the medium and dimensions of your piece. 

    - If you are selected you are responsible for ensuring the piece is ready for gallery display: framed, mounted, or set up with a method to hang on the wall/ whatever your piece requires.

    -  Artists may choose to sell their piece. Canopi takes a 25 % commission of work sold at the gallery. 

    - If selected you will need to be able to deliver your art to Canopi in person during the week of the 20th. 

2. A postcard to home

    - Download the postcard template and write a postcard with a story from your home. Snippets of your home country, a particular house, a hometown memory with family or friends, etc. These will be on display at the gallery opening.

    - All postcards are accepted given they meet our criteria. (No jokes or crude stories please.)

3. A family recipe

    - What recipe when you or a family member makes it makes you breathe out, relax and think ‘I’m home’? We will compile these into a free to download zine! Copies will be available to create your own recipe zine throughout the duration of the exhibition. Download and print a template to write your recipe on or submit your own design.

    - All recipes are accepted given they meet our criteria.
