Summer Solstice Iranian Film Night, Panel, Q&A and Gher (Dance)
We’d like to invite you to join us this summer solstice for a night of Iranian cinema, culture, and gher(that irresistible swish on the dance floor).
We’re screening the critically acclaimed, award winning film Hit the Road (جاده خاکی ) by Panah Panahi (پناه پناهی), son of the award winning Director Jafar Panahi (جعفر پناهی).🏆
Hit the Road is a beautifully tender and moving portrait of a family road trip through the Iranian countryside. It is imbued with humour, symbolism and poetic references to life in modern Iran.
The movie Screening will be followed by a panel discussion exploring the beautiful complexity, symbolism and cultural context of Iranian cinema. Opening a door to a country closed off to the outside for decades.
