Hamsayeh Presents: Summer Solstice Iranian Film Night, Q&A and Gher

Summer Solstice Iranian Film Night, Panel, Q&A and Gher (Dance)

We’d like to invite you to join us this summer solstice for a night of Iranian cinema, culture, and gher(that irresistible swish on the dance floor).

We’re screening the critically acclaimed, award winning film Hit the Road (جاده خاکی ) by Panah Panahi (پناه پناهی), son of the award winning Director Jafar Panahi (جعفر پناهی).🏆

Hit the Road is a beautifully tender and moving portrait of a family road trip through the Iranian countryside. It is imbued with humour, symbolism and poetic references to life in modern Iran.

The movie Screening will be followed by a panel discussion exploring the beautiful complexity, symbolism and cultural context of Iranian cinema. Opening a door to a country closed off to the outside for decades.

What to expect:
• ▶️ Hit the Road film screening (With English Subtitles)
• 🍿Traditional Iranian film snacks
• 🗨 Panel discussion and Q &A
• 🎵 DJ & Dance – a gher session to close the night.
