PLAYBACK at The Canopi: Sound bath 1

On 16 and 17 September, Creative Cardiff is working in partnership with The Canopi to host fringe activity as part of Media Cymru's PLAYBACK festival.

Start your day at PLAYBACK at The Canopi with a morning of sound, stillness and reflection.

Join musician and sound artist Kris Jenkins for an immersive sound bath exploring the relationship between sound, our surroundings and the environments we inhabit.

Drawing on a career spanning music, recording and collaboration with artists including Catatonia, Super Furry Animals, Cate Le Bon, 9Bach, H Hawkline and Gruff Rhys, Kris will create a live sound collage inspired by both organic and non-organic environments.

The session invites you to slow down, listen and immerse yourself in the sounds around you. Rather than a traditional performance, this is an opportunity to experience sound as an environment in itself, allowing you to pause, reset and simply be present in the moment.

As Kris puts it: "Dig the sound, dig the moment. Its math is true."

No previous experience is needed. Come as you are and give yourself an hour to listen, rest and reconnect.

This event forms part of Creative Cardiff's takeover of The Canopi as part of Media Cymru's PLAYBACK showcase.
